Trained as a sculptor, woodworker and photographer, I have been influenced by many artists; from Dali to Greene and Greene, and Wendell Castle to Sam Maloof. As a photographer who taught the craft, I find the medium a wonderful compliment to my sculptural work.
I received a Bachelor’s degree in studio art at the State University of New York in Brockport. While there, I majored in sculpture, and studied under renowned artists Albert Paley and Wendell Castle. At that time, I also began my photographic experience and realized I had a knack for looking beyond the big picture and focusing on life’s minute details.
I later received a master’s degree in Art Education from Nazareth College, and taught for over 25 years. Through my studio work and my teaching I try to convey an appreciation for the joys of life whether through art or the simple act of helping others.
Artistically, my path has taken me in many directions. Creating photography and furniture with a focus on the sculptural beauty in both, I continue to get closer and to see what others might not.
